If you are interested in sharing ideas my e-mail address is
I live a little bit South of Chewelah so we are not far from each other.
I know a lot about the laws in our state and how they can allow a great variety of
educational models to be funded by the state. My son is in a public school program
that allows almost total flexibility.
It is not a SV model because the child must do something resembling participating
in activities the child chooses to participate in or eventually be convinced that
not participating is in fact not participating and there is no reason for the
child to waste his time in the physical presence of people who wish to accomplish
The key thing is that each child is given the opportunity to participate or not.
The total REQUIRED time a child must "participate" is one hour a week which I
think may be less than the "attendance" required by a SV model school.
In any case if you want to know how to really get the best for your child and
allow the child to receive state funding e-mail me.
